Goings on in the Studio

The Studio has been busy as usual with Save the Date cards, Art of the Book classes, polymer plate printing, and oodles of designs in the works for custom business cards and wedding invitations.

Letterpress Business Cards – makes a great gift too!

I printed lots of business cards this past week too:

A great birthday gift surprise from Meaghan to her brother (a fellow Sag!).  This custom card was handset in Caslon and printed in a bright green ink.  Happy December birthday Michael!

And 1,000 cards for Gavin at Paper Dragon

and Jared did a DIY business card, just in time for his upcoming talk on book collecting!

The Art Book Fair

The Book Fair was awesome, once you navigated the crowds.  We ran out of porcupine fish for the sets of 16th-century Creature note cards with assorted colored envelopes, so I went on press and cranked some out…

Letterpress Business Cards & Book Arts this Weekend

It was another busy weekend at the Studio.  Glen ran out of his business cards from 2 years ago, so we ran them again – hand set in Lydian bold and printed on handmade papers.  He loves the deckle, so each card is unique and has a wonderful feel of thick, cotton rag papers!

Mindy Belloff began running a new book edition of the Greek myth of Arachne, printed letterpress for a double-sided accordion book. Oh, what a tangled web we weave!

And in between, little Suki was playing with Monkey, a favorite toy.  We have to give the needle and thread a rest from bookbinding to give Monkey some much needed stitches!

Sunday Brooklyn Book Fair & Letterpress for Fashion Week in NYC

If you are in NYC, please join us this Sunday, September 12 at the Brooklyn Book Fair (Table #133) 10am-6pm (www.brooklynbookfestival.org) – Trains: 2, 3, 4, 5 to Borough Hall; R to Court Street; or A, C, F to Jay Street/Borough Hall.

Also this Fashion Week in NYC we helped out a new Designer show-casing her clothing line.  Mindy Belloff hand-set her cards in Caslon typeface and printed them in a beautiful purple ink on thick, lush paper.

New Letterpress Business Cards

We went to press with Aram’s business cards.  He had a difficult time making a decision on one single design, so we helped him out and printed all 4 of them!  We used a heavy weight Crane’s bright white paper, printed in a blue-grey and a lighter grey ink that Mindy Belloff custom mixed to his specs and they look spectacular!
